Narratale ("we", "us") is operated by Narratale Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore. This policy explains what information we collect through the Narratale app, why we collect it, and how you can contact us about it. Narratale is currently in closed/beta testing — this policy will be revisited before public launch.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, first name, and password (stored securely and never visible to us in plain text). We also record your preferred language and the platform you signed up on (iOS, Android, or web).
While you use a tour, Narratale accesses your device location (GPS) — including in the background while a tour is active — to detect when you're near a point of interest and trigger the matching audio narration. Location is used live for this purpose; we do not build a history of everywhere you've been.
We record basic usage data tied to your account: tours you've started or completed, itineraries you've generated (city, neighbourhood, duration, interests selected, and the resulting stops), and app interaction events (e.g. when a tour starts, when you arrive at a stop). This helps us understand how the app is used and fix problems.
If you submit feedback (star ratings, written comments, NPS score, suggestions), we store that against your account so we can read and act on it.
We do not access your camera, contacts, photos, or microphone. (Some app permissions may be present in the underlying app package because of third-party libraries we use, but Narratale does not use the camera or microphone for anything.)
Narratale does not currently process any payment information — subscription/Premium features are not yet active.
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run Narratale, who process data on our behalf under their own security practices:
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Narratale doesn't yet have a self-service "delete my account" option in the app — see how to request account deletion, and we'll action it promptly.
You can deny or later revoke location permission in your device settings — the app will still function, but automatic narration triggering and city detection won't work without it. You can stop using the app and request account deletion at any time.
Narratale is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
As Narratale moves from beta to public launch, this policy will be updated to reflect new features (e.g. subscription billing). Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date above.
